Indian Air Force has issued AFCAT 1 2017 notification to recruit officers in its flying, technical and ground duty branches. Let us see what AFCAT is and its eligibility criteria.
AFCAT stands for Air Force Common Admission Test. As the name suggests, AFCAT is the common entrance test for IAF officers recruitment. AFCAT is a written exam to shortlist candidates for 5 day SSB interview. Candidates who pass the SSB interview will become officers in the Indian Air Force.

The minimum accepta- ble height for male candidates is 157.5 cms. For women candi- dates minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.(For Gorkhas and individual belonging to hills of North-Eastern region of India, Garhwali and Kumaon, the minimum acceptable height will be 5 cms less. AFCAT 1 2017 selection process
AFCAT exam will be held on 26 February 2017. Candidates who have applied for AFCAT exam will be issued with AFCAT admit cards for appearing AFCAT exam.
AFCAT written exam duration will be 2 hours. There is an additional exam for all candidates who apply for IAF technical branch i.e., EKT. EKT or Engineering Knowledge Test is of 45 minutes duration and will be held immediately after the AFCAT exam.
