Step by step guide for filling up personal details in online AFCAT application
After registering for AFCAT exam and reading instructions you will be asked to fill up your personal information.
Here are few tips for filling up your personal details correctly in the AFCAT form.
Step 1 - Filling up Name, Father name and mother name in AFCAT application
These three fields are very important and are auto filled from details mentioned by you while registering for AFCAT online exam. Recheck whether all details are accurate and authentic as per supporting documents. Your name should match with that of your Matriculation certificate. Your father's and mother's name must match with your 10th / 12th / Graduation certificate. In few boards mother's name is printed on the certificates and in few father's name is printed on the educational certificates. So filling up that name to be in line with the name printed on the certificate. Other name which is not reflected in any certificate must be filled up as per Aadhaar card / PAN card etc. For example, I my mother's name is not entered in any of the certificates. So I will fill up my mother's name as per her Aadhhar card while filling up online AFCAT application form.
Step 2 - Email ID and Secondary Email ID in AFCAT form
Your registered Email ID will be automatically appear in the Email Address field. If you wish to enter your secondary Email Address, then you can enter it here. There won't be any benefit of providing additional alternate Email ID but it is purely upto your decision.
Step 3 - Fill up nationality and mobile number
By default Indian will be selected in nationality field in the AFCAT application form. Mobile number will also be auto populated from your AFCAT registration details.
Step 4 - Enter Aadhar Card Number and identification mark
Aadhar card is mandatory for all candidates except those from Jammu & Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya states. If you are from J&K, Assam or Meghalaya and you don't have Aadhar number yet, you must enter 111111111111 as their Aadhar card number. In the "Candidate's Visible Identification Mark" field, enter any of your visible identification mark. Preferably you should enter the visible identification marks as per your matriculation certificate.
Step 5 - Filling up CPSS/PABT Status and Commercial Pilot License details
CPSS stands for Computerized Pilot Selection System. CPSS is held by Indian Air Force at AFSBs for checking whether aspirant has ability to become a pilot or not. In Army and Naval Services Selection Boards, the test is called as PABT.
There are three options to choose from.
- Passed
- Failed
- Not Appeared
So choose accordingly. If you have failed the CPSS / PABT test then you will not be eligible for Flying branch of Indian Air Force.
If you have a current valid commercial pilot license (CPL) issued by DGCA, then choose Yes or else choose No.
Step 6 - Exclusive for Airmen of IAF
If you are serving in Indian Air Force as an airman then choose Yes in the option "Are you serving Airmen in IAF?". If you are not an airman then choose "No".
There are four additional fileds to be filled up by serving airmen in the online AFCAT application form. When you choose Yes, following four additional fields will appear.
- Select Rank in IAF - Choose your current rank in the dropdown menu.
- Service Number - Enter your IAF service number here.
- Current Posted Unit - Enter your posted unit here.
- Select Command - Choose your command under which your unit comes.
Step 7 - Enter gender, marital status and date of birth
Final step in filling up personal details in online AFCAT application form is to fill up your gender, marital status and date of birth. Enter your date of birth as mentioned in the Matriculation certificate only.
So after filling up all the personal details correctly, click on "Save and Continue" button to proceed to next section of online AFCAT application form.
