SSC Tech course is exclusive for engineering graduates who want to serve in the Indian Army as an engineering officer. Engineering graduates of India can apply for SSC Tech courses to aspire their dream of becoming technical officer in the Indian Army. SSC Tech course is for men and women engineers. SSC Tech Courses Offered by Army
Presently Indian Army has offered two courses of SSC Tech for which applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates. Following courses are being offered.
- 49th SSC Tech Men Course
- 20th SSC Tech Women Course
SSC Tech Men course is exclusive for male candidates and SSC Tech Women course of Indian Army is exclusive for women engineering graduates. But there is no much difference apart from number of vacancies. Both are Short Service Commissioning batches.
Eligibility Criteria for applying SSC Tech courses
Eligibility criteria needed to apply for SSC Tech courses of Indian Army is as follows.
Educational Qualification
Applicants who want to apply for Army SSC Technical course should have passed engineering degree or should be studying in the final year of engineering.
Indian Army SSC Tech Age limit
Age limit for bboth SSC T 49 Men and SSC T 20 Women courses is 20 to 27 years as on 01 October 2017. To be precise date of birth of applicants of SSC Tech courses of Indian Army should fall between 02 Oct 1990 and 01 Oct 1997.
Nationality of the applicants
A candidate must either be : (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Bhutan, or (iii) A subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will however not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.

How to apply for Indian Army SSC Tech courses
In order to apply for Army Short Service Commission Tech courses, candidates need to log on to official website of Indian Army officers recruitment. There you will find a link to the SSC Tech online application. If you are not a registered user of Indian Army officers recruitment portal, you must register first. After successful registration, fill up SSC tech course application form. Please keep your original documents with you while filling up the application form and fill up carefully as a silly mistake can be a reason for rejection of candidature at a later stage.
Selection process of SSC Tech courses of Indian Army
Indian Army will shortlist the candidates based on their percentage of Engineering.
All candidates will be called for attending 5 day SSB interview at various SSB boards of Indian Army.
Indian Army SSB interview is the only test required to get selected for the SSC Tech courses and becoming an officer in the Army's technical branch.
