Can diabetics join Territorial Army

I have seen in several places and forums out side of this site that a person with Diabetes cannot join Armed forces. How about territorial army. I see people at the age of 50+ ( Mohanlal and etc) are joining TA with hefty personality and are not seem physically fit . While they joined on honorary grounds , how about person like me at the age of 37 with type-2 diabetes but physically fit. Can I try to appear for the tests and interview process ?
