Eligibility criteria of 45 SSC Meteorology course

In order to apply for Indian Air Force's 45 SSC course of meteorology branch, candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

• 45 SSC meteorology branch course is open for female candidates only.
• Applicant must be Indian citizen.
• Applicant of 45 SSC course should be post graduate with any science stream / Mathematics / Statistics / Geography / Computer Applications / Environmental Science / Applied Physics / Oceanography / Meteorology / Agricultural Meteorology / Ecology & Environment / Geo-physics / Environmental Biology. Applicant should have scored 50% in post graduation and similarly should have scored 55% in Maths & Physics papers at graduation level.
• Applicant should be minimum 152 Cms tall with correlated weight.
• Also applicant should be physically and mentally fit.

Type of commission awarded to 45 SSC course officers

Candidates who will be selected for 45 SSC course and successfully completes their training, will become Short Service Commissioned officers of Indian Air Force. Initial engagement of SSC officers is 10 years. After completing ten years, SSC officers of IAF may seek for another four years of extension. Thus maximum term of engagement is 14 years for a Short Service Commissioned officer. After completion of 14 years of service, candidates may work in private companies or just relax after retirement.

Selection procedure of 45 SSC Meteorology branch course officers of IAF

Applications received by IAF for 45 SSC course will be scrutinized and forms which are correctly filled up will be sorted according to the percentage scored in post graduation. Shortlisted candidates will get call letters for SSB interviews. These SSB interviews will be held at Allahabad, Mysore, Gandhinagar and Varanasi Air Force Selection Boards of IAF. Medical examination will be held for those who are recommended by AFSBs at IAM Bangalore or AFCME New Delhi.

Applications should be sent through ordinary post only. On top of the envelope applicants should write down "Application for Meteorology Branch Course Commencing from July 2014'. Along with application, applicants should attach one self addresses envelope of size 23X10 Cms with 27 rupees postage stamps. and two unattested passport size colour photographs.
