In order to apply for Indian Air Force's 136 GDOC & 29 SSC course of meteorology branch, candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria.- 136 GDOC & 29 SSC meteorology branch course is open for female candidates only.
- Applicant must be Indian citizen.
- Applicant of 136 GDOC & 29 SSC course should be post graduate with any science stream / Mathematics / Statistics / Geography / Computer Applications / Environmental Science / Applied Physics / Oceanography / Meteorology / Agricultural Meteorology / Ecology & Environment / Geo-physics / Environmental Biology. Applicant should have scored 50% in post graduation and similarly should have scored 55% in Maths & Physics papers at graduation level.
- Applicant should be minimum 157.5 Cms tall with correlated weight.
- Also applicant should be physically and mentally fit.
Type of commission awarded to 136 GDOC and 29 SSC course officers
Candidates who will be selected for 136 GDOC & 29 SSC course and successfully completes their training, will become Short Service Commissioned officers of Indian Air Force. Initial engagement of SSC officers is 10 years. After completing ten years, SSC officers of IAF may seek for another four years of extension. Thus maximum term of engagement is 14 years for a Short Service Commissioned officer. Applications received by IAF for 136 GDOC & 29 SSC course will be scrutinized and forms which are correctly filled up will be sorted according to the percentage scored in post graduation. Shortlisted candidates will get call letters for SSB interviews. These SSB interviews will be held at Allahabad, Mysore, Gandhinagar and Varanasi Air Force Selection Boards of IAF. Download 136 GDOC & 29 SSC Meteorology course application form. Fill up the application and send the filled applications to POST BAG NO. 001, NIRMAN BHAWAN POST OFFICE, NEW DELHI - 110106. Applications should be sent through ordinary post only. On top of the envelope applicants should write down "Application for Meteorology Branch Course Commencing from July 2014'.
