Indian Army TGC Full Form
Before proceeding to know about Indian Army TGC notification and salary, let us know the TGC full form. Full form of TGC is Technical Graduate Course. TGC in Indian Army is considered as one of the best ways to join the elite Indian Army as an officer and serve the nation. Let us first see the detailed eligibility criteria to apply for Indian Army TGC.
Indian Army TGC Eligibility Criteria
In order to apply for TGC entry of Indian Army, candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria.
Nationality of the applicant
A candidate must either be : (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Bhutan, or (iii) A subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by Government of India. Certificate of eligibility will however not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
Age Limit of TGC Applicant
20 to 27 years as on TGC course commencement date are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualification required for TGC course of Indian Army
Candidates should have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or be in the final year of Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply. The candidates in the final year of Degree Course should complete all their examinations related to the degree, like written, practicals, viva – voce, projects, backlogs etc prior to TGC course commencement date. They should be able to produce the Engineering Degree within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA.
Training of TGC Course Candidates
All candidates who are shortlisted for Indian Army TGC course will have to undergo one year training at Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun.
On joining of the TGC course, all applicants will be awarded with Short Service Commission and will be placed in the rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army. After successful completion of one year TGC course training, candidates will be awarded permanent commission in the rank of Lieutenant. Also one year ante date seniority will be given for the TGC entry candidates. Candidates will get full salary and all other applicable allowances during the training period and thereafter.
Indian Army TGC Officers Salary
Indian Government pays hefty amount of salary to Indian Army TGC officers. Apart from handsome salary, TGC officers of Indian Army get decent amount of allowances.
During the training Indian Army TGC officers will get a stipend of 21,000 rupees. After completion of training, an Indian Army TGC officer salary will be approximately 80,000 rupees. Also officers will get arrears for the salary not paid during the training.
Further salary of TGC entry officers in Indian Army will increase by 15 to 25% after implementation of 7th CPC pay recommendations for Indian Army officers.
How to apply for Indian Army TGC course
In order to apply for TGC entry of Indian Army candidates need to apply online from the official website of Indian Army. First candidates need to register on the Indian Army website and then fill up the online application of TGC course. Once filled the application form, wait for the list of shortlisted candidates prepared by the Indian Army.
All shortlisted candidates need to appear for 5 day SSB interview. TGC SSB interviews are likely to commence in the month of January / February next year.
