Indian Air Force is one of the leading air forces in the world. To meet the day to day operations, IAF regularly conducts recruitment exams for officers posts. AFCAT is the common entrance exam held by IAF to induct commissioned officers.

As AFCAT exam is compulsory to pass to become an officer of IAF. So let us see the AFCAT examination pattern here.

Question paper of Air Force Common Admission Test consists of 100 questions. Each AFCAT question carries three marks. There is negative marking also. So every wrong AFCAT answer will deduct one mark.

AFCAT General Awareness Topics

General awareness part of AFCAT exam consists questions related to Indian History, sports, geography, environment, civics, basic science, defence, art, culture, current affairs and politics.

Verbal ability in English for AFCAT examination

AFCAT exam consists of verbal ability questions on English. This part of the exam covers comprehension, error detection, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms and vocabulary.
